i was surprised, it had been raining last night, but there was about 1/2 inch of snow this morning and the arena was frozen....so i put off the vague thought i'd had of riding this morning, and rode this afternoon instead.
the pressure halter is good when moutning, but really not so clever riding as after a while it drops down her nose and upsets her... so i'll go back to the on/off/on/off until i can get on without it...either that or if someone's available to take it off once I'm on....
but we got a few lateral steps today, not many, but more than we've had before! then it got really cold as the sun (what there'd been of it this afternoon) vanished to i got off, my head was getting REALLY cold...

Your head ????? Don't you wear a hat?
C
I echo Caroline's..."your head?" I use a balaclava thingie under my helmet. Like it much better than something over the helmet.
This is under the assumption that you are ALWAYS wearing your helmet when you ride!! Please, please, say it's so.
Need to figure a quick release on the pressure halter. or some other similar rig that doesn't cause issues when you ride.
of course i had my riding hat on - but without the balaclava thingy i bought earlier this year, which uselessly was over the arm of the rocking chair at home...I NEVER ride without it, and get really hacked off with people who do - i once got bucked off a riding school horse, whilst wearing a riding hat, am still missing 1/2 hour of my life and the hat i had on was cracked in three separate lines....
but my head was cold today!
OK, glad to hear about the hat. Had a friend who rode w/o one and lost more than a half hour. Don't think she coverted to hat wearer even afterwards. It always worries me when I think someone is riding hatless.
