unfortunately, rain on top of frozen ground makes for ice underfoot ... a bit dodgy! checked the arena, but didn't think it was safe to use, quite. hopefully it'll be all thawed out tomorrow - and if it's not raining in the morning, Molly will be worked then (in case it does rain later on!). main roads ok, but everything else is at that treacherous point where you have to be super carefull where you tread....

I hate that kind of footing. Nearly anything is better than wet ice....or not wet ice...ice....ick.
I remember one storm we had here years ago. The horses had to stay in for days because the layer of ice was so thick it was treacherous just walking anywhere. I finally got permission to drag excess sand from the indoor arena out to the paddock area to make a path to the barn so I could get my horses into the indoor for some exercise.
One vote against winter here. *sigh*
