so that will hopefully take place tomorrow, subject to weather... it rained most of the day, the horses were wet, and if we'd got them in to dry it rained again anyway.
here's what i harvested yesterday afternoon:
enough garlic to feed the street:
and a winter's supply (I hope) of onions
and i think my sweetcorn is about ready...

yumm, veg look good!!
It's amazing how much garlic you get from a planting - I have a huge bunch, too - but then we use a lot.
Yummy. Looks good to me. We have had sweet corn since early July here in NJ. I guess the growing season is different here. You are going to enjoy that...nice and sweet! My Dad was a big corn grower. He always said the only way to eat sweet corn was to put the water on, go out and pick the corn, and put in into the boiling water as soon as you got back into the house. I microwave an ear for a little less than 2 minutes, in a baking dish with just a little water in the bottom and a lid on it to keep in the steam.
Reminder to self: need to go get some corn tomorrow. *G*
We used to grow all of our own garlic. I love to do that! When we get back and can have a vegetable garden again...
Great looking garlic and onion crop! I didn't bother with either this year but I must finish planting my leeks today!
