RIP Jenny Winterschladen (nee Jones)

back in 71/72, i was in 6th form and jenny was a 1st year (Friends School Great Ayton). When I started working at my previous firm in 1988, Jenny & I didn't realise immediately we'd been to the same school but we had; we worked together until I left Watson Burton in February 2004.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer and I heard back this time last year she was clear.

I was rung this afternoon by WB - Leigh drew the short straw to sit in a quiet room and ring all former work colleagues who had moved on - she died last night in her sleep. It had come back to her liver very aggressively. her eldest child is only 16 (edited on 29th december to get that right, sorry emma!)....

So aorry you have lost a good friend, and the world has lost someone special.

My sympathy to all who knew and loved Jenny. May peace take charge of their hearts when they discover the true joy of remembering the power and treasure of Having shared her love.

This is very sad news. Jenny and I were the closest of friends back at Friends' School during O levels. I was from Canada and Jenny was generous enough to make me her friend - always funny and always challenging me! I spoke to her this past summer as she boldly fought through the cancer. I thought she had it beat...I am so very sorry for the loss to Robin and her kids. This is a sad Christmas, but in all likelihood, she would simply tell us to raise a glass for her and get on with it... I will miss her.

Jenny was more than a friend to me, she was my mum! She will be missed sooo much and I'm so proud of her for being so positive and brave this year!Life is ridiculously unfair, but i do agree with Jon, mum would be ordering us to raise a glass of sparkly rosé to her!
xxxxxxx

p.s I cannot believe we live in the 21st century and we have not found a cure for this hideous disease!

Emma! hello. yes, it is awful there's no cure for it - and I know exactly why you're that angry about it, my dad died of kidney failure a few months before kidney transplants became a reality, so there's always been that "if only" for me...

I'll see you on Wednesday....but in the meantime, know that you are allowed to be angry, and sad, and angry again but most of all that your mother would have wanted you you remember the good times...

I worked with Jenny at WB for two and a half years, she was like a Mum to me and followed my pregnancy and asked for updates daily! When I brought Ben in she wouldn't let him go! Always said I would meet her for lunch after I left and bring him back in to see her. Sadly I never got round to this, a big regret of mine.

She was lovely and one of her favorite sayings was "ooh who's brought in chocolatey goodness!"

She proudly displayed photos of Jack and Emma on her desk. She said Jack had scrumptious ears and she always said you would be a fashion designer and a model Emma so don't let her down!
