at vast expense .. and i'll hve to go back to the shop on monday as he forgot to put the battery in (have to go back anyway, i left some bits as i couldn't carry any more! and wanted to set it up over the weekend ready for next week)

Did the other laptop die, then? Too bad you had to get a new one, but hoping it has nifty new features and will work ten times better!!
Here in New Jersey, there is a decided "life style" and money difference between north and south. (Though that is changing somewhat) My farrier used to have "North Jersey prices" and "South Jersey prices." I live in Central New Jersey, so I am kind of in the cracks.
Board around here can be gotten for a bit less than north of me, but just a bit south, towards the NJ Horse Park (the BIG showgrounds) there are some expensive places. And west, towards Princeton, there are expensive places.
However, if I were to go south, I'd start to run into lower prices for sure.
