a flattening wind

that is, fit to flatten anyone rash enough to do anything in it! so no one did - at least, not on our yard, as the arena is too exposed to the elements. if it were in the lee of the road, would have been different, but there you go.

and i had an expensive day.

firstly, came out of the house and thought, oops, near front tyre doesn't look right. I needed 2 new front tyres. £86.

and during the week, partner had taken my mountain horse boots to the cobblers, they needed new zips. they aren't going to get them. he couldn't do it (and if couldn't no one can!) and i know it would cost £100 the pair for mountain horse to do it. so they're in the bin, and i now own a pair of Ariat Grasmere the sort with two laces). rather nice!

hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow...

Two laces? Sounds odd, I must go and look it up.

How old were the Mountain Horse boots? When my winter ones' zipper broke, Mountain Horse/tack store replaced them. Regardless, the lace ones sound much better as far as holding up over time.

No fun and not safe trying to ride in the heavy wind. Too bad when you have a day off on the weekend.

the black ones have two laces, one at the top and one at the bottom; the brown ones only have one lace the full length.

oh, and they were a few years old, they put a much stronger zip in the new ones...

i really wanted the ariat bromont, but they were too long in the leg, and too tight at the right knee, to the extent that they hurt...
