2 1/2 years

to work out that a flash strap on the bridle is a good idea.

it is a good idea.

i only did loads of walk (did a little trot, but not much), but was able to get direction just with a very little pressure of the fingers YAY.

circles? of course.

small circles - reluctantly, but yes.

result.

Think I might go for the myler mullen mouth though .... even though it's a mullen mouth, it moves independently either side.

someone said - it's as if putting that strap on has made a decision for her.

I am looking into the lawsuit thing. Apparently you are right that the workmans comp law has been designed to stop tort suits for job related injuries. However, several state are now considering making employer liabilty a criminal offense if the safety violations are long term.

As to something like carpal tunnel or HAV, because they are long term injuries and not related to one specific incident, a Virginia court ruled that employees could not file for compensation so the only possible solution was a tort action.

So, from my research into a subject I know little about, there are certain circumstances where an employee can sue and your HAV seems to be one of them.

Otherwise, you are right that for ordinary injuries, no...until one of those states makes it a criminal offense.

interesting.

of course the other thing is, so often the insurers aren't set up for this sort of "long tail" (technical term for stuff that goes back years) stuff.

and it's why people like turner & newell/t & N went into Chapter 11 - they were having to pay themselves and don't have the money....

Molly news? Fantastic! Sometimes one little thing can make a world of difference. Don't make the strap so tight that she can't move her jaw at all, though. Too tight will eventually inhibit her ability to accept the bit.

Circles are good....congratulations. She is going to supple up quickly now.

Interesting back. Here in the States, the trick is that we have Federal laws out of Washington that govern some things, and then each idividual state makes its own laws governing other things.

I wonder what will happen with the criminaliztion of employer negligence if it clashes with Federal workmans comp laws? The US legal system is often a sticky wicket with situations like that.
