but at least the mud had dried off in the gap between storms when i got her in..... there's a lot to be said for working ones horse first thing in the morning, as a generaly principle the weather tends to be a bit better then ....
anyway, pondering over the bitless bridle & groundwork, and consulting with sheila @ bitlessbridle.co.uk, will now revert to using that for lunging, two rein lunging & attempts to long line and see how we go

Yuck. It rained all day here...and quite a bit. My riding arena had just dried out nicely too. Now everything is soggy again and in mud puddles. The ring is fine to ride in, but Tucker hates the water splashing on his belly and doesn't work as well in the wet.
Strange how your weather has been coinciding with ours so many times. Even with the ocean between us, the weather gods are laughing at our muddy horses. *G*
I will be interested to see if the bitless bridle helps!
