it was raining this morning, and the trough still leaking. we've decided to tie up the stop cock and empty out the trough and just use large tubs (of which we have a selection) until the trough gets emptied. then if it stops raining the area round the gate might dry up, you never know...

You seem to be suffering from too much water no matter what the weather. First it was the river and now the water tub...add the rain and soggy is the only operative word here.

Dry ground - are you dreaming?! Hopefully it won't rain this weekend. Here in Cambridge it looks like Monday might be a bit wet but otherwise the prediction is for dry weather the next 5 days or so.
it will dry up a bit, mary lou, once the water has dispersed from the leaking trough!
