because the river in this picture has burst its banks and when i left was up to the cattle grid...
a long way to go before we need panic and get the horses out, and the probabilities are that we won't have to .. but still, very scary! The trees nearest the river are underwater..
it's all come down from the pennines; if it stops raining there and doesnt' rain here, we're fine. if it carries on raining there, and then rains some more here, we might not be!
fingers crossed all.

Oh dear! Now that is a worry for sure. Hopefully the rain will stop and all will be well.
Best of luck.
They are crossed! Nothing you can do but monitor the situation and have a sensible plan for getting them out.
In Colorado, the last two stables I rode at have both had to evacuate their horses due to wild fires.
Oh dear that sounds rather serious; hoping it stops raining and stays stopped!
This brought back memories......I had moved to cumbria in the January when Carlisle was flooded in the February that was quite scary weather.
The horses were fine....I'm sure it will pass soon
Keeping fingers crossed!
phew.
gaynor just rang, it has subsided!
Glad the waters are subsiding, the forecast doesn't look too clever overnight or tomorrow though :( Hopefully you'll be spared much more water though.
