windy ...

to replace the rain (but it's still raining over the pennines, so we still need to have some concerns on the flood situation and feel sorry for those in cumbria)

I went down really early this morning, cos i'd got up early! and they were out whilst it was still dark ... mucked out and poo picked the field...apparently gaynor's dogs went a bit mad as i arrived, and she thought i was a bit mad being that early, but hey!

and my other thoguht about the wind .. it was so warm, it could have been the hot air blowing out of the FEI...

not at all convinced by that statement, and not at all sure what world horse welfare can do ....they rescue abused etc. horses and do a good job on that.. but deal with rollkur?  um.

and as for allowing bute in competition ...

words fail me...

but the FEI vice president is against that:

and quite right too!

The bute decision beats me, it really does!

And the Rollkur statement actually didn't say a darned thing, did it?

Still, I don't think their decisions are ever going to affect Jazz and me, though we can all dream!

I figured as much. There will be huge debate defining exactly what rollkur is, then to what extent is is cruelty, etc. Don't expect any quick decision on this one.

Curious that the trainer in the "blue tongue" video is Danish. Hate to say it, but the guy who worked my PJ "into the ground" in rollkur when I had a broken wrist was Danish and that was probably 20 years ago. Then I worked with a "good" Danish trainer, and when back to him a year or so later and he too espoused rollkur, this time for Toby.

Wonder if Denmark is the origin of the technique?

Glad you and Molly haven't suffered the worst of the bad weather being experienced down your way :(

we're on the better side of the pennines.. the west is getting the backlash from a hurricane they had in the states, i think...we just get the run off down the rivers!
