Keeping My Fingers Crossed
This is the continuation of the story of my mare Molly and her retraining into, hopefully, a sensible horse, a safe hack, and a horse able to obtain decent marks at dressage as she has really nice paces when she's working well ....

Nice pics!! She really looks good when she is working onto the bit.
Read the post below, so I am up to speed. Maybe that new bit is a winner at last??!! That'd be great.
All the distractions are annoying, that's for sure. Still you worked through them all.
Renvers...three cheers! And yes, working at the walk can be great, mostly because as a rider, you can really concentrate on all the absolutely correct aids without worrying much about staying on. However, walk can also be difficult because it doesn't have the impulsion or forward you need for a lot of work.
The pics never quite do show the size of your arena, but if it is too small it certainly can interfere with getting a lot of good training done.
jean, it is really tiny! (even my partner, who's no rider, says "it's titchy"). I'll post some vid later which hopefully will show how small it is (and I think i'll take the tape measure with me as well!).
The still pics look good :)
And the school really is tiny. Not much space to avoid the camera person!
She is looking nicely relaxed Claire, much less tension than I've seen in her pics before.
Well done.

She looks well Claire!
Is it a jointed bit of a mullen mouth?Ive ridden Polo in a mullen mouth myler for a good while now and he seems to like it,AliG quite likes it too:)
thanks all.
Stephanie will however confirm that those moments were rare... overall the session was complete pants.
Nicola, not a mullen mouth, but a dressage legal - their usual dressage legal pattern!
I've been through a selection of mylers.... the 04 with hooks was no good, the 01 she didn't seem to get away with (that was just an ordinary 01). the combi we know about. this one is probably an 02 ....
Don't make the session sound dreadful, there were a lot of positives there :P
True, at the beginning the softness wasn't there but towards the end, once she had settled, there were quite a few moments like that. She's not strong enough to maintain that outline consistently. However, with the new bit I think that you'll see a lot more moments like that.
*I* thought that it was looking very nice towards the end. :)
