not as good as yesterday

i had to get help to get on. i put the treats on teh wall again, but she wasn't positioned right - my fault - and the second time we tried she was too far away from me, so went round to the barn for a hand.

after that, not too bad - but i think when it's as cold as this its hard to feel the seatbones, they sometimes seize up with cold!

but it was quicker to get molly thinking about it than yesterday.... and she did start to do some nice softer work....at one point we had a really nice halt, she stayed soft for about 2 or 3 minutes - i just thought i'll keep that just there so we can remember the feeling if nothing else!

and the hay ? is being soaked. it was very dusty i realised, and she coughed today (whilst she was eating her soaked net whilst i was grooming her...) so will keep an eye on that. if i have to go back to haylage, so be it ....we'll see how it goes this week.

Good try about the mounting. You'll get there.

Soaking the hay is a nuisance, but it does really work well. Looked into haylage here--they call it sweet hay. My problem would be storing it so the bales stayed secure and untouched in the plastic. I'd worry about little critters nibbling them open.

The only tricky thing about the hay is that once I found a snake burrowed into a bale. Guess he/she was eating the nibbly critters! *G*
